Muav Delight
There are three limestone layers in the Grand Canyon, sandwiched together, that account for 1,200 vertical feet of cliffs in some parts of the canyon. The Muav limestone is at the bottom of the limestone layer cake and makes magnificent ledges for backcountry camping. This was a long exposure shot on a backpacking trip at night under a full moon giving the image a subtle blue hue. When water runs over Muav limestone in the canyon, magic happens.
