Let’s talk about how prints are made just for you
Wall prints are incredibly individual, and I use a process to be sure I can deliver prints that fit your unique taste in your house, office or corporate space. The most common prints I make are the following:
Fine Art Prints. Fine art prints are printed on thick specialty paper. There are many options which can really complement a particular image. Fine art prints are usually framed. I can deliver fine art prints in a roll ready for you to frame or pre-framed with the frame style you choose.
Canvas Prints. Some people consider canvas prints passe’, but in my opinion they look great in many spaces, especially those with a western or rustic theme. Canvas prints are literally printed on a thick durable canvas like paper. There are many canvas paper options. Canvas prints are often frameless and the print edges are wrapped around the wood structure. Canvas prints are usually 1.5 inches thick at the edges, but there are many possible variants, including placing canvas prints within traditional picture frames.
Metal Prints. Metal prints provide a vibrance and luminescence that can be stunning. The image is literally printed on a thin aluminum plate. The colors explode from the image. The ultra fine detail is amazing. Metal prints, because of their rigid structure often have no external frame. The image floats off the wall.
There are other print options, such as acrylic prints, that I’m happy to provide. Let me know if you have specific thoughts about the image medium and we’ll work together to bring it to life.
Here are the things to consider before ordering prints.
What is the decor in the area where you will hang the print? This often can dictate the type and framing of the print to be made.
Will you provide lighting on the print? Many prints can look better with richer colors in directed light. The ambient light in a room is also important to understand prior to printing. In order to provide the best look in your space the brightness of a print often needs to be enhanced prior to printing, especially if the ambient light is low. Glare from outside should be carefully considered in selecting the best paper and finishes on the image to reduce it. If a print is exposed to frequent outside light special finishes might be appropriate to protect the image from fading over time.
How big do you want the print? Most prints in my gallery can be printed in large formats, but a few may not render as well in large formats depending on the circumstances when the image was shot in the field. Some print mediums, such as canvas, are more friendly to hiding imperfections in very large images. Size and medium matters in the process of determining how to create the best image for you.
What’s it gonna cost?
Most every print I create is a custom project. My job is to ensure that my art helps your room look amazing.
