Winter: where water is unusually abundant but in the wrong state
Winter in the Grand Canyon backcountry is beautifully harsh. After 14 hours in the sleeping bag your eyes peek longingly out the small breathing hole watching the softest light begin to peer over the horizon. The temperatures dive while you wait for the sun to hit your face firing the starting gun for movement to escape the confinement of the bag. The sun kisses the horizon seemingly forever as it sweeps south casting a soft glow over the World around you. This is a photographers dream.
